Landry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Landry, died at his home in Lessard street last Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, after an illness of only a few days. Deceased was born in this city 28 years ago. He was educated at St. Joseph Commercial Institute, from which place he graduated. He was employed by the Napoleonville Cypress Company for a number of years and severed his connection with this firm several years ago to accept the position of assistant manager of the Welcome saloon, owned by his uncle, George Landry, in which position he was still engaged at the time of his death. Mr. Landry was a young man of sterling character and exemplary habits, with a very wide circle of admiring friends. He was esteemed by all who knew him - to know him was to love him. His death at the very threshold of a promising career has proven a severe blow to his relatives and scores of friends in this community. Besides his father and mother, deceased is survived by his wife, who was Miss Marie Creoli before her marriage; three small children, Marie Cecile, Dorothy Elise and Kathlyn; five sisters, Mrs. Arthur Lemann, Misses Maude, Rosalie, Agnes and Anita, and one brother, Frederick, Jr., who is in the United States army in France. The funeral took place Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, with services at the Catholic church and interment in the family tomb in the Catholic cemetery.
