Mr. LeBlanc always evidenced an interest in the welfare of the city and State, and for two years was the president of the pelico jury of Assumption, serving that body with an unexampled fidollty (sic), zest, and intelligence. He was an enthuslastic (sic) Knight of Honor, and for two terms he was the Grand Dictator. Mr. LeBlanc was born in St. Kames Parish in 1841, and was educated at Cape Ciradeau, MO. After his college days he became connected with a sugar plantation, and when the war broke out he enlisted in a Louisiana regiment and served with distinction. After the war he became the manager of the Benjamin Tureau sugar plantation, and afterward managed several other plantations. Many years ago he married Miss Amelia Bortequt [Bertaut], of St. James Parish, who survives him with nine children. His sons are: Captain J.V. LeBlanc, of the steamer J.E. Trudeau; Louis, manager of the Half Way Plantation, in Assumption Parish; Casimir, Fernan, George, Lawrence, Misses Theresa and Louise and Mrs. Louis Duhon. His brothers are J. Prosper, J. Etol and Philip W. LeBlanc. Mr. LeBlancs body was conveyed from his late residence, 1501 S. Anthony street, to the Mississippi Valley train which left at 8:15 o'clock this morning and on the arrival of the train at Donaldsonville the funeral will take place.
