(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871 - current, February 22, 1913, Image 4 Death of Miss Estelle Landry. - Miss Estelle Landry, a native and life-long resident of Donaldsonville, died at 6:30 o'clock a. m. Sunday at the residence of Ambroise Rougeau, where she had made her home for a long time, aged seventy-one years. Miss Landry had been ailing for several weeks with a light attack of the prevalent grippe, but on Saturday she spoke of feeling much improved and to all outward appearances her condition was more favorable than it had been at any time recently. Her demise a few hours later was therefore almost entirely unexpected, and the sad announcement proved a shock to those who gathered about her bedside and her many friends throughout the community. The funeral took place at 8:30 o'clock Monday forenoon, with services and interment in the Catholic church and cemetery. Miss Landry was a daughter of the late J. Aristide Landry, who represented this district in congress before the war. She is survived by two half- sisters, Mrs. Poursine, of New Orleans, and Miss Blanche Landry, of Donaldsonville, to whom sincere sympathy is extended by a wide circle of friends.
