This morning at half past 2 o'clock the soul of Pierre Louis Maillette, one of 
the oldest citizens of Donaldsonville, took its flight for celestial regions. 
Mr. Maillette had reached the advanced age of 72 years. He led a quiet and 
blameless life and was universally esteemed. An aged wife and two charming 
daughters are left to deplore his loss. The funeral takes place this evening 
at 5 o'clock.
