T.B. Marchand, an aged and life time resident of New River and Gonzales, died 
Sunday, June 5, at his home in Gonzales. Mr. Marchand was apparently well and 
was talking to some friends when he was suddenly stricken and passed away after 
a few hours. He had reached the age of 78 years. Funeral services were held in 
St. Thresa Catholic church, Rev. Father Hubert, pastor and Rev. Father Baron, 
pastor of St. Amant Catholic church conducted the funeral services. Interment in 
Prairieville Catholic cemetery Monday evning. He leaves his wife, five sons, Dr. 
Lolis Marchand of Cottonport; Dr. L.U. Marchand of Gonzales; Mr. Alex Marchand 
of Inns; Mr. A.M. Marchand of Acy, and A.P. Marchand of Gonzales, and a number 
of grand-children.
