Death of Mrs. E. M. Meilleur. - Mrs. E. M. Meilleur, nee Alice Landry, died 
at 7:20 o'clock Friday morning at the home of her mother, Mrs. Ozeme Landry, 
aged 59 years. Deceased was a native of this city, but resided in New 
Orleans for many years, returning to Donaldsonville to make her home with 
her mother upon the death of her husband a few years ago. She was a woman of 
admirable character and charming personality, and enjoyed the warm affection 
of those whose privilege it was to know her. The funeral took place this 
forenoon at 9 o'clock, with services and interment in the Catholic church 
and cemetery. Besides her venerable mother, Mrs. Meilleur is survived by one 
sister, Mrs. P. Alex. Poche, of Santa Cruz del Norte, Cuba, and three 
brothers, Messrs. Frederick and George Landry, of Donaldsonville, and Allen 
Landry, of New Orleans. The Chief joins in extending condolences to the 
bereaved family.
