(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, February 16, 1918, page 3 Ozeme Michel Claimed by Death. - The body of Ozeme Michel, who died at his home in New Orleans at 8 o'clock last Saturday night, was brought to Donaldsonville Monday morning via Texas & Pacific train, and after services at Ascension Church was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Michel resided for many years in Smoke Bend, moving to New Orleans about sixteen years ago. He had been in the employ of the Godchaux sugar company for thirty years past, serving as chief sugar-boiler at their Raceland factory in Lafourche parish during the grinding season, and as head carpenter in charge of construction and repair work throughout the remainder of the year. His death followed an illness of only a week's duration, and proved a profound shock to his family and wide circle of friends. He was 63 years of age, and besides his wife is survived by one son, Arcemand J. Michel; two daughters, Mrs. J.M. Landry and Miss Rosanna Michel, both of New Orleans; three brothers, Messrs. Joseph, Omer and Frank Michel, of this parish, and a sister, Mrs. Baptiste Mollere. To the bereaved family the Chief proffers sincere sympathy.
