Death of Sosthene Mollere. - Sosthene Mollere, an old and highly esteemed 
citizen of this community, died at his home in Port Barrow at 5:40 o'clock 
a.m. last Sunday, the 20th inst., after an illness of only three days, aged 
seventy-nine years, six months and ten days. Mr. Mollere was a native of 
Ascension parish, and had resided in Port Barrow throughout practically his 
entire life. He was lessee and keeper of the toll bridge across Bayou 
Lafourche for the past several years, and for many years prior to operating 
the bridge on his own account he filled the position of bridge tender when 
the structure was leased by his son-in-law., Prosper Rodriguez, Sr. He was 
an upright, industrious man and a good and progressive citizen, and his 
demise will be sincerely mourned by all who knew him. The funeral took place 
at 10 o'clock Monday forenoon, interment being made in the family tomb in 
the Catholic cemetery after impressive services at Ascension Church.

Mr. Mollere is survived by his wife, three sons, Messrs. Alcee, Louis and 
Sosthene Mollere, of Port Barrow, and three daughters, Mrs. Prosper 
Rodriguez, Sr., of Faubourg la Pipe, Mrs. Ambroise Folse, of Lauderdale, and 
Mrs. P. A. Vegas, of Union, besides a large number of grand-children, great-
grandchildren and other relative. To these afflicted ones The Chief proffers 
sincere sympathy in the hour of their grief.
