(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, December 31, 1921, Image 5 Death of Anthony Montecino. Anthony Montecino, former resident of Donaldsonville and a carpenter by occupation, died at his home in New Orleans, Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, after a long illness due to kidney troubles, aged 77 years and 8 months. Deceased was a native and resident of this city until about five years ago, when he removed to the Crescent City. He was an artist in his line, a hardworking and industrious man, a good citizen and a devoted husband and father. The remains were brought to Donaldsonville yesterday, arriving here via the 2 p. m. Texas and Pacific train. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church, after which interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. A large number of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the sad rites and followed the remains to the grave. Besides his wife, deceased is survived by five daughters and two sons, namely: Mrs. Henry A. Dugas of Smoke Bend, Mrs. Darby Gill, Mrs. James Dale, Mrs. Henry Ulmer, Miss Odile Montecino and Eugene Montecino of New Orleans, and Louis J. Montecino of Philadelphia. To them The Chief proffers sympathy in their great bereavement.
