(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, February 16, 1918, Image 3 Death of Paul J. Montecino. Paul J. Montecino, a well-known citizen and merchant of the Belle Rose neighborhood, died at his home at 6:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, aged 56 years. He had been in poor health for the past four or five years, and while his death was therefore not unexpected, this did not lessen in any measure the profound grief with which the sad announcement was received by his multitude of friends throughout this section. Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning by Ascension Lodge No. 251, F. and A. M., after which interment was made in the Donaldsonville Catholic cemetery. The large assemblage of mourners in attendance at the obsequies gave evidence of the high esteem in which Mr. Montecino was held. He is survived by his wife, nee Odalie Simoneaux; one daughter, Mrs. Elisee Hebert, of Belle Rose, and two brothers, Messrs. Anthony and Louis Montecino, of New Orleans. The passing of this good citizen has occasioned widespread regret, and immeasurable sympathy is extended to the loved ones who mourn his loss.
