Died. - At Plaquemine, La., on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1880, at 11 o'clock P. M., P. 
H. Murphy, aged 61 years, a native of the County Galway, Ireland.

The Iberville South says of the subject of the above notice:

Mr. Murphy has been a resident of our town for over fifteen years. He was at one 
time Sheriff of the parish and has been a Justice of the Peace in this ward for 
a number of years. He was a gentleman of considerable education and was a first-
class teacher. Genial, whole souled and generous, he was quite popular with the 
masses and had many friends in this community. May his soul rest in peace.
