Nores, a private in the United States Army and member of the Rainbow Division, was killed in action on the battlefield of France, on October 15 last, aged 34 years and 2 months. Deceased was a son of the late Henry Nores and Ainsie Comstock, who resided in Donaldsonville years ago. Mr. Nores died here, and about twelve years ago Mrs. Nores with her two sons, Henry J. and Arthur, removed to Los Angeles, California. At the outbreak of the war both of the boys volunteered for service in the army and were accepted and Mrs. Nores removed to New Orleans, and took up her residence with her sister, Mrs. Elphege Capbern, with who she is now residing. Henry J. was a young man of exemplary character and was esteemed by all who knew him. His mother, Mrs. Nores, is well remembered here as a very pious and charitable woman; a devout Catholic and a loving and affectionate mother, beloved and esteemed by the entire community. Deceased leaves his mother and one brother, Arthur, who is with the American army in France to mourn his loss.
