[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, February 18, 1922, Image 4 Body of Murdered Woman Interred Here. - The body of Mrs. Arthur Pichon, nee Lita Ramirez, who was stabbed to death by her husband while in a drunken condition, at their home, 901 Royal Street, New Orleans, last Tuesday, was brought to Donaldsonville Wednesday and buried in the Catholic cemetery here. Deceased was a native of this city, and a daughter of Arnold Ramirez, better known as "Hamcock," and a neice (sic) of Placide Ramirez of this place. The funeral took place upon the arrival of the Texas and Pacific train at 2 o'clock p. m. According to the reports published in the New Orleans papers, Pichon, while drunk last Tuesday afternoon, backed his wife into a corner of their home and stabbed her twice in the breast and then buried the knife in her face, after which he made his escape. The deed is said to have been provoked by a chastisement administered by Mrs. Pichon to Arthur W., fourteen-year-old son of the murderer by a previous wife, which is said to have greatly infuriated the drunken man.
