PIKE - On Saturday, August 14, 1880, at the residence of Dr. S. D. Gustine, 
in Jefferson parish, F. W. Pike of the parish of Assumption.


Deceased was an old citizen of our neighboring parish and was highly 
respected and esteemed by all who knew him. He had been in failing health 
months before his death and had become almost helpless, hence the moment of 
final dissolution brought to him a blessed relief from bodily suffering. He 
leaves a family and a very large circle of friends and relatives to mourn 
his demise; among these is the family of our estimable young friend, Wm. B. 
Sharp, Esq., assistant manager of Mr. James Teller's Riverside plantation, 
in this parish. Mrs. Sharp is a daughter of the lamented deceased.
