PREUSS - In San Antonio, Texas, on Monday, Sept. 14, 1885, MATILDA PREUSS, aged 24 
years and 10 months, a native of Germany.

Miss Preuss lived in the village of Port Barrow, this parish, for a number of 
years, and was highly esteemed for her many amiable traits of character and charms 
of person. The sad intelligence of her early death will cause much regret among 
all who knew her. The funeral took place on the 16th inst., in New Orleans, 
whither the remains had been conveyed for interment.
