(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, November 22, 1913, page 3 Death of Widow Felix Reynaud. - Mrs. Adela Bertrant (sic) Reynaud, widow of Felix Reynaud, died at her residence in New Orleans on Tuesday, November 4, aged 75 years and 10 months, and the funeral took place the following afternoon, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Metairie Ridge. Mrs. Reynaud had been in feeble health for many months, and had been unable to speak since last January, having suffered paralysis of the vocal chords as a result of general debility. On a number of occasions she seemed near the point of death, but recuperated each time until nature finally wearied of the struggle and she passed peacefully away, conscious of her surroundings and conveying with her eyes to the loved ones about her bedside the affectionate farewell to which her lips were powerless to give audible utterance. Mrs. Reynaud was a native of the parish of St. James, but came to Ascension when quite young and was married at the age of 17 to the late Felix Reynaud. The couple spent over thirty years in this parish, living alternately in the New River section and Donaldsonville. They were well known to nearly all the people of the community and a large circle of their friends still survive among the older residents. Mr. Reynaud died 26 years ago last August, after the removal of the family to New Orleans, leaving his widow and seven children to mourn the loss. The three daughters and four sons now called upon to suffer the bereavement of their mother's death are Misses Maggie and Malvina Reynaud, Mrs. Ella Murphy, John S., Benjamin T., Louis F. and Gaspard Reynaud, all residents of New Orleans. There are two grandchildren, Ella and Lillian, the lovely little daughters of Mrs. Murphy. The Chief extends the assurance of deep regret and sympathy to the afflicted family.
