Died. - RICHARD - At his residence in Ascension parish, La., near 
Donaldsonville, Wednesday evaning (sic), August 12, 1885, at 7 o'clock, Theodule 
Richard, a native of this parish, aged 68 years and 6 months.

This respected citizen was the venerable father of those esteemed gentlemen 
Messrs. Aime, Armand and Fernand Richard, and of Mrs. Arthur Cire, who had the 
misfortune to lose their mother a year ago. Mr. Richard was a carpenter by 
trade, a hard working man of estimable character and disposition, deservedly 
possessed of the respect and good will of the entire community in whose midst he 
was born and spent his whole life. Several months ago he had severe fall while 
at work, and the injuries he then received did much to hasten his death. The 
funeral Thursday evening was largely attended, services in the Catholic church 
and at the cemetery being performed by the parish priest, Rev. Father Dubernard. 
We tender sincere sympathy to the relatives of the lamented deceased because of 
the affliction they have sustained.
