[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, July 24, 1920, Image 5 Death of Louis Rome. - Louis Rome, prominent citizen of this parish and sugar boiler by occupation, died at his home in Smoke Bend at 6:30 o'clock this morning, surrounded by the members of his family. He was 54 years, 6 months and 4 days of age at the time of his demise. He had been suffering with asthma for several years. He was a man of steady and industrious habits, of a quiet disposition and was esteemed and respected by all who knew him. He was a member in high standing of Mohawk Tribe No. 33, I.O.R.M., of this city. After services at the St. Francis of Assisium Church, Smoke Bend, the remains will be taken to Donaldsonville and laid to rest in the family tomb in the Catholic cemetery. Deceased is survived by his wife and eleven children - six sons and five daughters. The Chief condoles with them in their great sorrow.
