RICE. - On Tuesday, July 27, 1886, at her home in this parish, Mrs. Phoebe 
Rice, wife of Rev. Hillery Rice, aged 70 years.

She was born in 1816 on one of the plantations now owned by Mr. Oliver Beirne 
and has lived on it almost the entire length of her long life. Old age and 
general debility conseqent there on was the cause of her demise, and she 
leaves her aged husband and a host of friends and relatives who will deeply 
feel her absence from among them.
