A few years after leaving the convent she was united in marriage to Jos. B. Sandlin, then manager of the Kock's Belle Allaince plantation. Her husband was an Alabamian. He enlisted from that state and served gallantly as a soldier in the Confederate army of northern Virginia during the civil war. He preceded his wife to the grave several years ago. Mrs. Sandlin was a noble christian woman and was greatly beloved by all who knew her. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J.W. Locke and the following sisters: Mrs. Camille Aleman of this parish and Mrs. Paul Cire and Mrs. Joseph Dugas of White Castle. The Chief tenders condolences to the relatives in their great sorrow.
