(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, June 22, 1907, page 3 Death of Benny Savoy. - After an illness of several weeks, resulting from a stroke of paralysis, Benny Savoy breathed his last at 10 o'clock Thursday forenoon, aged twenty-three years. The funeral took place yesterday morning at 9:30 o'clock, with services at the Church of the Sacred Heart and interment in the Catholic cemetery at Plattenville. Mr. Savoy sustained the fatal stroke at Alexandria, where he was employed as a bartender, and on Saturday before last, the 8th inst., he was brought to Donaldsonville and conveyed to the residence of his wife's brother-in-law, Charles G. Maher, in Claiborne street. Despite the most devoted nursing and the utmost effort of the attending physician, the young man never regained consciousness, growing slowly weaker until at last he closed his eyes in the long sleep that knows no waking. Besides his wife and one child, a son five months old, Mr. Savoy leaves his mother and three sisters to mourn his loss. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends and acquaintances is tendered the bereaved family.
