(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, January 11. 1919 Death of Edward Schloss. - Edward Schloss, a successful business man and prominent citizen of Baton Rouge, died at his home in that city Wednesday morning after an illness of several weeks, aged sixty-three years. Mr. Schloss was a brother-in-law of Jasmin and the late Michael Tobias, of this city, and had many friends here who were shocked to learn of his demise. He was a native of Weindenken, Germany, but at the age of twenty years came to the United States and located in Baton Rouge, where he had resided ever since, building up a large moss, wool and cotton ginning business, and being identified with every progressive movement. The funeral took place from the family residence at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, interment being made in the Jewish cemetery in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends. Mr. Schloss is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Bertha Tobias, and six children, namely: Allen, Sidney, Tobias, Edward, Beatrice and Sadie Schloss.
