(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, January 26, 1918, page 3 Aged Veteran Answers Last Roll Call. - Clerville Simoneaux, a native and life- long resident of Ascension parish, died at his home near Barton at 2 o'clock Thursday morning, aged 86 years and 4 months. Deceased was a carpenter during his younger gays, but had not done any work for the past thirty years due to failing eyesight and other infirmities of age. He fought in the civil war as a member of the Confederate army, and was affiliated with Maj. Victor Maurin Camp No. 38, of this city, the members of which organization attended his funeral in a body. Services were held at St. Jules Church at Valenzuela Friday forenoon, after which interment was made in the veterans' tomb in the local Catholic cemetery. Mr. Simoneaux's closest surviving relative is a sister, Mrs. Joseph Mollere, of Klotzville.
