Mrs. Elizabeth Strange Singletary died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. 
Vincent Cambre, in Port Vincent, on Monday last, the 28th ult., at the ripe 
old age of eighty-five years. The funeral took place from the Cambre home at 
4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, interment being made in Felder's cemetery at 
Port Vincent. In noting the demise of this estimable woman, the Baton Rouge 
State says" "Mrs. Singletary was one of the oldest and most beloved ladies 
of her community - a lady of the old regime, sweet, gentle and refined, a 
firm friend, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a conscientious 
Christian. She will be greatly missed by many outside her family circle."
