Sobral. - Mrs. Eveline Gonzales, wife of A. M. Sobral, died at 11:15 o'clock Wednesday night after a long illness, aged sixty-two years. She was a native of Assumption parish, but resided with her husband in the parish of St. James from the time of their marriage forty years ago up to the latter part of the year 1904, when the family moved to Ascension and established their home in Faubourg la Pipe, a short distance below Donaldsonville. The funeral took place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends, including delegations from Major Victor Maurin Camp, U. C. V., Capt. Victor St. Martin Camp, U. S. C. V., and Hubert Treille Chapter, U. D. C. Services were held at the St. James Catholic church aud (sic) interment was made in the adjacent cemetery. Besides her husband, Mrs. Sobral is survived by six children - Mrs. S. Goette, of Donaldsonville; Mrs. Peter Stifft and Fred. Sobral, of New Orleans; Joseph Sobral, of Whitecastle, and A. M. Sobral, Jr., and Miss Jacinta Sobral, of Faubourg la Pipe - and four grandchildren, Stanley, Kearney and Lloyd Sobral and Carl Conrad Goette.
