Death of Miss Mildred Subra. - The gentle spirit of Miss Mildred Subra took 
flight from its earthly tenement at 10:30 o'clock last Saturday night, death 
coming to the patient and uncomplaining sufferer after months of illness.

The remains of the lamented young woman were tenderly laid to rest in the 
Catholic cemetery on Sunday afternoon, after services at Ascension Church, 
Rev. Father Massardier officiating.

Miss Subra was a native of Donaldsonville, and had resided in this city all 
her life. For some years she was a member of the faculty of the 
Donaldsonville High School, filling that position with marked ability and 
success, and earning for herself the esteem and respect of her pupils and 
fellow-teachers. Although of a most retiring disposition, she had a large 
circle of friends and acquaintances, among whom she was highly esteemed for 
her many virtues and accomplishments. To those within the sphere of her 
activities, who had experienced the gracious expressions of her kind nature 
and gentle, womanly tact, her demise has carried a burden of sorrow which 
will be difficult to bear and inflicted a grief which time alone can 
assuage.

Miss Subra is survived by her mother, Mrs. A. C. Subra, and a sister, Miss 
Louise Subra, to whom the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community is 
extended.
