Death of Mrs. Charles Tircuit. - Mrs. Charles Tircuit, of Plaquemine, died at 10 
o'clock Wednesday forenoon at the Hotel Dieu in New Orleans, to which 
institution she had been conveyed the preceding Monday for surgical treatment. 
An operation was deemed necessary and was to have been performed Wednesday, but 
the patient succumbed before this effort in her behalf could be exerted. Her 
body was brought to Donaldsonville via the Mississippi Valley Railroad Wednesday 
afternoon and was conveyed to the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. 
and Mrs. Claud J. Himel, on Peytavin plantation, from whence the funeral took 
place at 11 o'clock Thursday forenoon. Services were held at Ascension Church in 
the presence of a large assemblage of sorrowing relatives and sympathizing 
friends, interment following in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Tircuit was formerly 
Miss Metala LeBlanc, of the Smoke Bend community of Ascension parish, and had 
attained the age of 54 years and 19 days. Besides her husband, she is survived 
by five sons, Messrs. Numa, Lawrence, Clarence, Walter and Irving Tircuit, all 
of Iberville parish; three daughters, Mrs. L.R. Ferchaud of St. James, Mrs. 
Claud J. Himel of Ascension, and Mrs. A.P. Roussel of Plaquemine; one brother, 
Rene LeBlanc, of Garyville, and one sister, Mrs. Octave Tricuit, of Iberville. 
Sincere sympathy is tendered the bereaved family by a wide circle of friends and 
acquaintances.
