C. E. Thiac, a leading sugar planter and prominent citizen of the parish of 
Assumption, died at his home on Georgie plantation at 9 o'clock last night, 
and his remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Plattenville at 
3 o'clock this afternoon. Mr. Thiac, who was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Nicholas 
LeBlanc, of this town, is survived by a wife and several grown children, to 
whom the sympathy of a host of friends is extended.
