[volume] (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, December 23, 1916, Image 2 Old Resident Passes Away. - After an illness of long duration, Mrs. Hubert Treille, Sr., one of this community's oldest residents, died at 10 o'clock Friday forenoon at her home in Port Barrow, aged 80 years and 9 days. Mrs. Treille, nee Ophilda LeBlanc, was a native of Assumption parish, but had resided in Ascension since before the war, living all of this time in the Treille homestead in Port Barrow. A member of one of the pioneer families of this section, ahe was widely known and universally esteemed. The funeral took place this morning at 10 o'clock, with services and interment in the Donaldsonville Catholic church and cemetery. Mrs. Treille is survived by four daughters and one son, namely: Mrs. Rene Esneault, Mrs. Felix Fortier, Sr., Mrs. August Dugas, Miss Pamela Treille, and Hubert Treille, all residents of this community. A number of grand-children, great-grandchildren and other family connections are also left to mourn her loss. To the bereaved family the Chief, in common with a very large circle of friends and acquaintances, tenders assurances of sincere sympathy.
