The funeral took place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services at the local Catholic church and interment in the Plattenville cemetery. Mrs. Vega was a native of Assumption parish, but had resided in this city fro many years. She was connected with a number of the oldest and most prominent families of this state, and counted her friends and acquaintances by the legion. The length of the imposing cortege which accompanied her remains to their last resting place attested the high degree of esteem and respect in which she was held by all who knew her and gave evidence of the widespread sorrow and regret occasioned by her demise. Among the relatives who have been bereaved by the passing away of this noble woman are two daughters, Mrs. Prosper Ganel and Miss Mathilde Vega, of this city, to whom The Chief, in common with the entire community, respectfully tenders heartfelt sympathy and condolence. source: The Times-Democrat, New Orleans, Louisiana, 10 Jun 1910, Friday, page 13 Death of Mr. R.
