Creamer marykcreamer.00@gmail.com November 27, 2022, 9:08 pm source: The Donaldsonville Chief (Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, September 26, 1914, Image 1 Good Woman Passes Away. - On Sunday night, Sept. 13, Mrs. Herman Weil, nee Klotz, aged 86 years, died at her home in this town after an illness of several weeks. She was a native of Alsace, Germany, and came to this country a few years before the civil war. She lived in Donaldsonville up to and during the war, and removed to Napoleonville in 1865, her husband opening a large dry goods business here. She was a big-hearted, charitable woman, and was ready at all times to assist a neighbor or any one in need. She had two children, a son who died when quite young, and a daughter, Mrs. Adolph Weil, of this town. Funeral services according to the Jewish rites were held Monday afternoon, after which her remains were taken to Donaldsonville and interred in the cemetery there. Besides a daughter, she is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Mina Weil, of New Orleans. - Assumption Pioneer.
