Valentine Williams, an old colored citizen of Donaldsonville, died Wednesday 
night, after an illness of only about twenty-four hours, and his funeral was 
largely attended. He was a prominent member of the Nazarene Baptist Church and 
had been treasurer of that institution a number of years.
