A quiet wedding took place at the Catholic church last Monday morning at 6:30 o'clock, when Ruffin A. Gray and Miss Olphida Braud were married, Rev. Father Chambon officiating. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rene Braud of Darrow, and a sister of Mrs. Paul Gisclard of this city. She has made her home with Mrs. Gisclard, who lives in the Lemann addition, for the past eight years. The groom is employed as a mechanic at the Gramercy Sugar Refinery in St. James parish. The happy couple left immediately after the ceremony for New Orleans, where they will spend a short honeymoon, after which they will reside at Gramercy. The good wishes for a happy and prosperous nuptial life from the hundreds of friends of Mrs. Gray living in this city go with the newlyweds.
