WARD -- BUQUOI

Wedding of Popular Donaldsonville Girl Event of Holiday Week. - Miss Vernon Mary 
Buquoi, the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buquoi, of this city, and 
John Alvin Ward, of Lucedale, Miss., were married at the residence of the bride 
at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, the pretty ceremony being performed by Rev. 
T.D. Lipscomb, pastor of the Methodist church. The bride, who is one of the most 
accomplished and popular girls in Donaldsonville's younger social set, was 
attended by her sister, Miss Mildred Buquoi, and the witnesses to the plighting 
of the troth, besides Mr. and Mrs. Buquoi, included Messrs. Edgar Fortier, Sr., 
Fred Guiteau, of Burton, and A.W. Graham. The newly-wedded couple left via the 
T. & P. Railway at 3:05 p.m. for Alexandria, where the groom is presently 
stationed, in the employ of the Cumberland Telephone Company. In the evening Mr. 
and Mrs. Buquoi entertained the heads and employees of the Lemann store at a 
reception at their home, when dainty refreshments were served and numerous 
toasts offered to the health and happiness of the daughter of the house and the 
fortunate man of her choice. The Chief joins most cordially in these expressions 
of felicitation and good will, and wishes for Mr. and Mrs. Ward a long life of 
conjugal felicity, with prosperity and contentment ever present in their 
household.
