(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, May 02, 1908, page 3 WILLIAMS -- CIRE A prominent social event of the past week was the marriage of Amelius Williams, a progressive young business man of Whitecastle, to Miss Lydie Cire, the lovely daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bienvenu Cire of Donaldsonville, which was solemnized at the Church of the Sacred Heart in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends at 12:30 o'clock Wednesday, Rev. Eugene Hubert officiating. Felix LeBlanc, of Whitecastle, was the groom's best man, and Miss Amelie Cire, a cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Little Miss Noelie Cire was the dainty flower girl. After the nuptial knot had been tied the wedding party repaired to the home of the bride's parents in ST. Patrick street, where an informal reception tendered the happy couple. At 2:15 o'clock Mr. and Mrs. Williams left via the Mississippi valley route for New Orleans, from whence they departed Thursday morning on a honeymoon trip to Abita Springs. Upon their return they will take up their permanent residence at Whitecastle. In common with their legion of friends throughout the state, The Chief extends congratulations and good wishes to the newly mated pair, and trusts that the span of their married life will extend through a long number of happy and prosperous years.
