Marquette, of Thibodaux, and Miss Irene Davis, of Donaldsonville, were quietly married at the Catholic church in this city on Monday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 o'clock a.m., in the presence of a number of friends and relatives. The groom is originally from Assumption, but has been a resident of Thibodaux for some time. He is employed as express messenger and baggage master on the Thibodaux branch of the Texas and Pacific Railway, and enjoys a wide acquaintance throughout this section of the state. The bride is the pretty daughter of Mrs. Norbert Nereaux, of Donaldsonville, and was formerly employed as a telephone operator in the local exchange of the Cumberland Company, in which capacity she gave entire satisfaction to her employers and the patrons of the exchange, and made for herself a large number of warm friends by her unfailing courtesy and amiability. After spending a few days in New Orleans very delightfully the happy young couple proceeded to Thibodaux, where they will make their home. The Chief joins their host of friends in extending them hearty congratulations and cordial good wishes for a long, happy and prosperous life.
