(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, December 22, 1917, page 3 LECHE -- DUGAS Brilliant Ceremony at Hymen's Altar Crowns Charming Romance. A marriage of much prominence during the winter social season was that of Miss Hazel Dugas, the lovely young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clay Dugas, of Belle Rose, to Karl Leche, of this city, which was solemnized at eleven-thirty in the forenoon of last Saturday in the pretty little St. Jules chapel at Valenzuela. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Gruel, assisted by Fathers Boudreaux and Chambon, in the presence of an assemblage of relatives and friends that filled the sacred edifice. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Risley Triche, of Napoleonville, and to its melodious strains the bride entered leaning on the arm of her father. She was a picture of exquisite daintiness in her robe of Duchesse satin trimmed with silver lace and embroidered in seed pearls, with a Medici collar and train of princess lace. She carried an arm bouquet of bride roses and valley lilies tied with white tulle. During the signing of the register Miss Ruth Ward, of New Orleans, sang "My Dreams," and Sam LeBlanc, of Napoleonville, sang "I Love You Truly." The groom had for his best man his life-long friend, Delmayne Hanson, of New Orleans, and the ushers were C.J. Dugas, Jr., of Avon plantation, Lefebvre Gianelloni, of East Baton Rouge, Charles Dugas and Joseph LeBlanc, of Paincourtville, and Charles Maurin, Jr., of Donaldsonville. After the ceremony a delightful informal reception was tendered the young couple at the home of the bride's parents, following which they left amid a shower of rice and good wishes via the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley route for a honeymoon trip to New Orleans. The bride, a winsome little blonde, is the eldest of a bevy of charming sisters and since her return from college last spring has been a most popular member of the social set. The groom, an only son of Judge and Mrs. Paul Leche, is a young man of sterling worth and fine attainments, and has before him the promise of a brilliant and prosperous future in his chosen profession. The Chief extends congratulations and the best of good wishes to the happy pair.
