Married.

LEAR -- DUKE

On Thursday, September 12, 1882, at the Church of the Annunciation, by the Rev. 
G.R. Upton, Mr. H.W. Lear of St. James parish to Miss Virginia V. Duke of 
Donaldsonville, La.

It is with pleasure we note the union of these young and faithful hearts. The 
bride is a lady of the most amiable qualities, mild, gentle and affectionate, 
and will bring happiness and contentment to the household of her lord, her sweet 
smiles will ever be lavished upon him to cheer and encourage him in his battle 
with the vicissitude of this life. The groom is a young gentleman of excellent 
character, in every way worthy of such a bride. Surely, such a union can but 
result in the most supreme happiness.
