Rodriguez, the capable young collector of the Bank of Donaldsonville, and Miss Emily Major, the charming daughter of Mrs. James Monceret, of New Roads, were married at St. Mary's Catholic church, in the latter town, at 10:30 o'clock a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Louisa Major, and Sam. Rodriguez, brother of the groom, officiated as best man. After the ceremony the newly wedded pair were tendered an elegant dinner at the home of the bride's mother, at which numerous toasts were offered and much good cheer prevailed. Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez returned to Donaldsonville Tuesday afternoon via the Texas and Pacific Railway and have taken up their residence in one of J.R. Duke's neat little cottages in St. Patrick street, between Iberville and Opelousas streets, where The Chief hopes they will spend many years in the enjoyment of all the happiness and contentment that married life can possibly bestow.
