(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, February 14, 1920, page 3 HOTARD -- MAURIN A marriage of considerable interest was solemnized here Wednesday, when A. E. Hotard, a prominent young planter, led to the hymeneal altar Miss Aime Maurin, one of the most beautiful and attractive young ladies of this city. The ceremony took place at the Catholic church at 7 o'clock in the evening, Rev. Father Dunn of Jefferson College officiated. The bride entered the church leaning on the arm of her step-father, S. Goette, and preceded by her sister, miss Jeanne Maurin, who acted as maid of honor, marched to the altar where the groom was in waiting with his best man, Dr. C.S. Goette. The beautiful ceremony which united two hearts to beat as one was performed by Rev. Martinez in the sanctuary and was witnessed by a number of relatives and close friends. After the nuptials the young couple left for Palo Alto plantation, where the groom is employed as an overseer and where they will make their home in the future. They were the recipients of many valuable and useful presents. The groom is a young sugar planter of ability and experience. For sometime he was employed as overseer on the New Hope plantatin [sic] of the Miles Company, but now fills a similar position on the Palo Alto plantation. He is a man of pleasant personality and is highly esteemed by all who know him. The bride is the oldest daughter of Mrs. Goette. She is highly educated nd [sic] accomplished and endowed with a weet [sic] disposition which endears her to a large circle of friends. Until recently, she was a member of the faculty of the Jamestown High School in St. James parish. The Chief tenders felicitations and good wishes to the young couple for a long and happy wedded life.
