(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, October 19, 1907, page 3 WILLIAMS -- NETTER A wedding of more than ordinary interest in this community, owing to the social prominence of the contracting parties, was solemnized at Temple Bikur Cholim on Thursday last at the hour of noon, when Miss Nonie Leonora Netter, of Donaldsonville, and Leon Dudley Williams, of Austin, were united in the holy bonds of wedlock, Rabbi M. Klein officiating. The interior of the sacred edifice had been beautifully decorated for the occasion with field flowers and golden rod, and the altar was transformed into a dainty floral bower by an arch of white roses and smilax, in which twinkled myriads of incandescent lights. Promptly at the appointed hour, the bridal party entered the church in the following order: Arthur Lemann and Joseph Blum, ushers; the groom and his best man, Max Davis, of Austin; Andre Garsaud, of New Orleans, and Miss Nellie Haber; Leon Fortier and Miss Roy Netter; Miss Adeline Netter, maid of honor; little Miss Matt Colomb, flower girl, and the fair young bride, leaning upon the arm of her father, Meyer Netter. As the party proceeded up the aisle Miss Margaret Bowden, of Lauderdale, sand "Thou Art Mine Own" with exquisite expression, the organ accompaniment being furnished by Dr. John S. Thibaut. A soft silence reigned in the church as Rabbi Klein pronounced the solemn words that made the happy couple man and wife, and no prettier sight could be imagined as they stood together hand in hand in all the pride and glory of their beautiful youth and pledged their lives to each other. After the ceremony the newly married pair and their immediate relatives repaired to the residence of the bride's parents, where a handsome reception was tendered them. Many toasts were offered and much good cheer ensued. Mr. and Mrs. Williams left on the 2:56 p.m. T. & P. train for New Orleans, from whence they departed Friday morning for a honeymoon trip to Houston, Fort Worth, Galveston and Dallas, Texas, reaching Austin about Nov. 1. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Netter, and is an exceptionally young lady. The groom is a successful young business man of Austin and holds the responsible position of assistant cashier of the First National Bank in that city. Numerous beautiful and costly presents were received by the happy young couple, attesting the marked degree of esteem and admiration in which they are held by their host of friends. The Chief takes pleasure in extending them hearty congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy married life.
