An interesting event in social circles during the current week was the marriage of Miss Juanita Marie Poche to Honore W. Charlet, which was solemnized at the local Catholic church on Wednesday forenoon at eleven-thirty of the clock, Rev. C.M. Chambon officiating. At the appointed hour and to the strains of the beautiful march from "Poet and Peasant," rendered with much expression on the organ by Mrs. W. A. Poche, the bridal party entered. First came the maid of honor, Miss Ophelia Charlet, a sister of the groom, charmingly gowned in navy blue satin with trimmings of white, and wearing a large drooping white satin hat. She carried a sheaf of white roses and ferns. Next came the dainty little ring-bearer, Miss Virlie May Byrnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Byrnes, whose winsomeness was enhanced by her pretty white frock of lingerie cloth and lace. Lastly came the bride, leaning on the arm of her father, her girlish beauty made more apparent by a chic and becoming suit of midnight blue. She wore a small hat of a taupe velvet and cream lace with a touch of ivory to match her shoes and other accessories, and her flowers were exquisite bride roses and trailing ferns. They were met at the altar by the groom and his best man, Coxswain James Poche of the United States navy, a brother of the bride. During the signing of the register Mrs. Poche and her daughter, Miss Eunice Poche, sang an :Ave Maria" from the opera "Maritana," and as a recessional a march from "Aida" was played. At 12:21 p.m. the newly-wedded couple left via the east-bound Texas & Pacific train for a honeymoon trip to New Orleans, upon their return from which they will take up their residence at Plattenville. The bride is the pretty daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Poche, of this city, and is a young woman of charm and vivacity, whose circle of admiring friends is bounded only by the extent of her acquaintance. The groom, a son of Capt. E.M. Charlet, of Plattenville, is a young man of estimable qualities and enjoys the good will and respect of all who know him. The Chief joins in extending congratulations and good wishes to the happy pair.
