(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, February 20, 1915, page 3 LANDRY -- PROBST Popular Donaldsonville Boy Weds Lovely New Orleans Girl. It was a surprise - albeit a most pleasant one - to Guy Landry's numerous friends in this community to learn that he had been quietly wedded to Miss Rose Probst in New Orleans on the 8th inst. The popular young couple had been "keeping company" for a couple of years or more and it was known that foxy little Dan Cupid had transfixed their respective hearts with his love-laden darts, but no inkling was given to friends by either of the young people that they contemplated forsaking single blessedness for the joys and happinesses of matrimony and the announcement that they had "put one over" by being joined together in wedlock was a complete surprise to everybody not in their innermost confidence. The ceremony was performed in New Orleans on Monday of last week, and was of an informal nature, only a few close relatives of the contracting parties being present. The fair bride, who has achieved prominence and wide popularity as the efficient head milliner of the Marks-Isaacs store in New Orleans, is a young woman of unusual charm of person, gifted with rare physical graces and a most attractive disposition. She is well known and generally admired throughout this community, having visited Donaldsonville on a number of occasions in the past few years. Mr. Landry is an Ascension boy, the eldest son of Mrs. Sam. J. Landry, of the fourth ward, and is one of the best known and most popular of the younger citizens of this locality. Of upright character, fine habits and gracious bearing, he enjoys the warm affection and unqualified confidence of all whose good fortune it is to know him, and has given a most excellent account of himself in the various capacities in whch (sic) he has been called upon to serve since assuming man's estate. He has been in the employ of the Louisiana State Rice Milling Company for some time past and is at present filling the responsible position of cashier and bookkeeper of that concern's Jennings mill, in which town he and his lovely bride will make their home. That the sunlight of happiness and prosperity will suffuse them in its roseate glow, and the fulfillment of their sweetest dreams be assured, is the fond hope of their legion of devoted friends and well-wishers, among whom The Chief is pleased to be counted.
