(Napoleonville [La.]) 185?-1895, June 21, 1879, English, Image 2 Death of Mrs. P. Lansdale Cox - This estimable and brilliant ornament of Assumption society died at her residence at Oakwood, in this parish, on the 14th inst. Mrs. Cox has been for many years in such delicate health as to necessitate her withdrawal from social and literary circles; but still, in moments of temporary exemption from bodily suffering, she wielded her pen with power and grace. Several of her prose and poetical productions adorn the columns of the Proneer, and as an authoress her standing in the literary world was meritorious. She was a devout Christian of the Episcopal persuasion, toward which church, during her former affluent circumstance, she was exceptionally liberal. Mrs. Cox leaves one child, the amiable wife of Dr. Paul Carrington, Quarantine Physician at the Balize. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to her family.
