(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871 - current, January 31, 1914, Image 2 Death of Allain J. Guedry. - Allen J. Guedry, a native of Assumption parish, and for the past four or five years a resident of New Orleans, where he had been conducting a grocery store, died at his home in that city at 6 o'clock yesterday morning, aged fifty-four years. Mr. Guedry was prostrated with an attack of pneumonia about two weeks ago, but had apparently thrown off the malady and was regarded as convalescent, when he suffered a relapse which brought about his death in a couple of days. The body arrived here this forenoon on the 10:10 o'clock T. and P. train and was conveyed to Paincourtville, where funeral services were held in St. Elizabeth Catholic church at 1 o'clock, interment following. Mr. Guedry was a son-in-law of Telesphore Rodriguez, one of the oldest sugar planters and best-known citizen of upper Assumption parish, his wife before her marriage having been Miss Angeline Rodriguez. She survives him, together with a large family of children.
