Triche. - Mrs. Mavor N. Triche, nee Una Braud, died at her husband's home in Napoleonville at 7:20 o'clock p. m. Thursday, the 4th inst., after an illness of eight weeks with typhoid fever, aged twenty-three years, five months and four days. Her remains were brought to Donaldsonville yesterday afternoon via the Texas and Pacific's Napoleonville branch, and were conveyed to the residence of her grand-mother, Mrs. Andrew Gingry, Sr., at the corner of Railroad avenue and Claiborne street, from whence the funeral took place at 4:30 o'clock, interment being made in the Catholic cemetery after impressive services at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Mrs. Triche, who had been married but a few months, was an exceptionally prepossessing and attractive young woman, and had a legion of friends in this community and elsewhere who will join in the widespread sorrow and regret occasioned by her untimely demise. She is survived by her heartbroken husband, to whom The Chief extends sincerest sympathy. source: The Assumption Pioneer (Napoleonville, Louisiana) 5 April 2007, Thursday, page 3 AN UNTIMELY DEATH. - Mrs. Mavor N. Triche, nee Una Braud, aged 23 years, died last Thursday evening at her home in this town after a long illness. Deceased was the beloved wife of Mavor N. Triche, salesman and town treasurer and one of our most deserving young men. She had been married but a few short months and she was ushered to eternity at a time when life meant so much for her. To the heartbroken young husband and to the innocent motherless boy, on whom the blow falls so heavily, there are no words to convey the loss of wife and mother. Friday evening the remains were taken to Donaldsonville accompanied by many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Donaldsonville the same evening. As we go to press this Saturday morning, we learn of the death of the baby boy of Mrs. Mavor Triche. The little one lived not quite two days. Thus the young husband, at one fell blow, suffers the loss of wife and child.
