She was the oldest child of Adolphe P. Rabalais and Javelli (Javelie, Javeline)Rabalais. Adolphina was 22 years old when she married Emile Bordelon on 28 January 1883 in Avoyelles Parish. Emile was the widower of Lea Juneau with four young children at the time of his marriage to Adolphina. Emile and Adolphina had at least eight children: 1. Clifton (Cliff) Bordelon (married Corrine) 2. Norma Bordelon (married Willis Beard) 3. Marie Anais Bordelon 4. Emile F. (Faggie) Bordelon (married Athalie Baudin) 5. Marie Olita Bordelon (maried Arthur Couvillion) 6. Lessie Bordelon (married Able Paul Moreau (1) and Louis Burke Sr. (2)) 7. Eva (Evie/Evelyn) Bordelon (married Foster Mayeux) 8. Clarise Cecilia (Gladys) Bordelon (married Paul Moore Mayeux)(my grand- parents) Emile died on 21 November 1914 and was buried in Bordelonville at St. Peter's Church. Adolphina lived her later years in a home in Mansura near the nursing home off of Hwy. 1. She had a very sweet disposition. Adolphina died about 8 January 1938 possibly due to cancer (large stomach tumor). Her "wake" was held in the home of her son, Emile "Faggie". She was buried in the grave with her husband at St. Peter's Cemetery in Bordelonville.
