Chenevert COTTONPORT - Services for Hudson J. Chenevert will be at IO a.m. Monday in St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Matt Woollett officiating. Entombment will be in St. Mary Mausoleum under direction of Avoyelles Memorial, Marksville. Chenevert, 78, of Cottonport died Saturday, July 31, 1999, in Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a native of Cottonport. He was a U.S. veteran of World War 11 serving with both the IO 1 st and 82nd Airborne Divisions. He was the recipient of the Bronze Medal with two clusters, the Purple Heart with two clusters and the European Victory Medal. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 130, VFW Post No. 3139 and Mansura DAV Chapter No. 47. He was a charter member of Cenla Honor Guard. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Gagnard Chenevert of Cottonport- two sons, Gerald Chenevert of Cottonport and Barron Chenevert of Jasper, Texas; two brothers, Reece Chenevert of Cottonport and Reed J. Chenevert of Marksville- one sister, Myrstice C. Juneau of Cottonport- and one grandchild. A rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Friends may call from 3 -1 0 p.m. today in the funeral home.
