D-3, Column 2 & 3. Mark Joseph Roy, age 88, of Marksville (La.) died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, 4 Aug 1993 in his residence. He was a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, retired as vice-president of Jefferson-Lake Sulphur Company, past chairman of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, Armed Services Committee and of the N.O. Propeller Club and past president of the Avoyelles Port Commission. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Avoyelles Cattleman Association. A charter member of the Krewe of Louisiana Mardi Gras Ball Association in Washington, D.C. He was a retired lobbyist for the Louisiana State Association of Optometry and a graduate of Springhill College in Mobile, Ala. Survivors: Wife, Jane Gillespie Roy of Marksville. Son, Dr. Mark J. Roy Jr. of Thibodaux (La.). 4 Sisters: Sylvia Michel, Ida Germillion & Cecil Gray, all of Marksville; and Marcel Howuse (sic) of Houston, Texas.; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Services: Will be at 11 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Revs. Jim Ferguson and Stephen S. Chemino officiating. Burial: In Alexandria National Cemetery, Pineville, under direction of Hixson Bros. (Funeral Home), Marksville.
