This is a picture of Germain (Jeremiah)Duplissey. The picture was taken in 
1890's. Germain (Jeremiah)Duplissey was born December 11, 1819 in Avoyelles 
Parish, Louisiana. When he was born his name was Germain Plessy. When he was 
about four years old,his name was changed to Jeremiah Duplissey.His parents 
were Dominique Plessy and Nancy Roe(Rowe).When Jeremiah was about three years 
old his father died in an accident. Jeremiah and his brother,Adolphus,were 
moved to Natchitoches Parish. Germain (Jeremiah)Duplissey died sometime in the 
1890's in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. He is buried in Butler Creek Cemetery 
in Evangeline Parish.
